TEACHERS:
Global
Child teachers are valuable people to our business.
Global Child teachers give their time,
energy and love to children throughout
Massachusetts!
Our
program began offering before and after-school
French and Spanish classes in fall 1992 in five
schools. By
fall 2006, the program had grown to
sixty-four schools.
Global
Child methodology teaches students the same way
they learn their mother tongue, through a series
of games, songs and skits.
Students learn to communicate with short
simple phrases and later complex sentences.
Reading and writing are introduced later.
Global
Child accepts applications year round for the
10-week fall semester that begins in late
September and the 12-week spring semester that
begins in early February.
All positions are part-time, before and/or
after the regular school hours, and for Chinese, French or
Spanish. All
positions require a semester’s commitment of 10
weeks in the fall, 12 weeks in the spring.
How
much time must a teacher commit?
That depends on many factors: your
availability, the number of children who sign up
(not finalized until the week before classes
begin), and how much we think you can contribute.
Each student goes to class once a week for
50 minutes, although a few Lunch and Learn classes
are longer.
Some teachers teach only two classes a
week. Several
teach 8-10 classes per week.
